PSB BOISJOLI values and prioritizes employees' needs
For Andréanne Millette, joining PSB BOISJOLI LLP (PSBB) immediately after earning her master’s degree in taxation was an easy decision.
One of her university professors, who also works at PSB BOISJOLI, spoke highly of the Montréal-based accounting, tax, and advisory firm. Encouraged by this recommendation, Millette applied, and her interest and positive impression only deepened during the interview process.
“I felt that PSBB would be like a second family to me,” she recalls. “I soon learned that both partners and employees maintain an open-door policy, fostering knowledge-sharing and mutual support among colleagues. This collaborative and welcoming culture was exactly what I was looking for.”
Her expectations proved to be spot on. Not only did she find the supportive work environment she hoped for, but she also discovered ample opportunities for professional growth. “I quickly felt that I could develop my career as I envisioned at PSBB,” she says.
Starting as a junior tax advisor in 2018, Millette steadily advanced, becoming a tax manager within three years. By early 2025, she had taken on the role of senior tax manager, specializing in Canadian taxation with a particular focus on corporate reorganization.
Along the way, she benefited from a variety of internal and external training programs. However, Millette emphasizes that PSB BOISJOLI’s organizational culture played an equally vital role in shaping her knowledge and expertise.
From day one, she had a mentor who guided her through projects, helped refine her professional skills, provided valuable feedback, and helped identify her interests and strengths.
“Being surrounded by highly qualified professionals who are genuinely happy to share their knowledge has played a significant role in my growth,” Millette says.
Knowledge enhancement is indeed an ongoing process. The taxation team, for example, holds weekly meetings to present updates in the field and discuss their impact on their current files, she says.
Founded in the 1930s to support small entrepreneurs, PSB BOISJOLI has grown steadily through strategic mergers and organic expansion. Today, as one of Québec’s largest chartered professional accounting firms, it offers a wide range of services, including strategic tax and estate planning, audit and assurance, corporate financing, and restructuring.
The firm also specializes in the unique tax needs of not-for-profit organizations and assists companies in securing provincial and federal tax credits for eligible research and development initiatives.
Despite its evolution, one thing has remained constant, says co-managing partner Frank Maselli. “We are passionate about serving our clients while taking care of our staff members,” he says.
Maselli, who joined PSB BOISJOLI in 2017, stepped into the leadership role alongside co-managing partner Kristina Ashqar in 2024. Ensuring employee satisfaction and engagement is a top priority, he says.
“People value their time,” Maselli says. “We have to make sure we earn our place in their schedules.”
PSB BOISJOLI is committed to fostering work-life balance as well as professional growth. Employees enjoy social events like karaoke nights, additional time off to recharge, and a hybrid work model that accommodates different lifestyles.
To encourage people to come into the office and stay connected with one another, the firm provides free lunches in the kitchen three times a week. Other perks include food baskets and a newly installed espresso machine.
“It’s a small gesture,” Maselli says, “but it’s our way of saying thank you.”
