By Richard Yerema and Kristina Leung, Mediacorp Canada Inc. staff editors (Dec 2, 2024)
Here are some of the reasons why Toronto Community Housing Corporation was selected as one of Greater Toronto's Top Employers (2025):
- Toronto Community Housing's charitable focus is on raising funds for the annual United Way campaign, whose mandate to fight poverty locally aligns perfectly with the organization's own social mission -- in support of the partnership, employees host virtual fundraisers and raffle draws, organize a popular golf tournament and host a summer barbecue to raise funds for the campaign
- Toronto Community Housing offers compassionate leave top-ups (to 93 per cent of salary for eight weeks) for employees needing time off to care for a loved one -- and offers the option to take an unpaid leave of absence for up to one year if needed
- Toronto Community Housing provides exceptional maternity and parental leave top-up payments for employees who are new mothers (to 93 per cent of salary for up to 52 weeks), as well as generous parental top-up for fathers and adoptive parents (to 93 per cent of salary for 37 weeks)

Here are some of the reasons why Toronto Community Housing Corporation was selected as one of Canada's Greenest Employers (2025):
- Toronto Community Housing launched the Green Office program in 2007 to encourage employees and the communities it serves to adopt sustainable behaviours -- the program targets specific goals including reducing energy consumption, achieving a 70 per cent overall waste diversion rate, eliminating harmful products and solvents, and reducing single-occupancy vehicle use
- Toronto Community Housing is dedicated to leading the housing sector in modernizing each of its buildings through various green initiatives and energy retrofits -- in addition to improving energy efficiency, each retrofit focuses on modernizing buildings and improving tenant's comfort in their homes
- Toronto Community Housing is in the process of launching a new strategic plan that is eco-conscious, responsive, and reflective of the diverse needs of tenant and employees -- the plan includes extensive environmental reviews and engagement surveys to ensure sustainable development, adaptability, and overall alignment with the City of Toronto's sustainability goals
