Recognized as one of Canada's Best Diversity Employers (2024):
By Kristina Leung and Stephanie Leung, Mediacorp Canada Inc. staff editors (Mar 4, 2024)
Here are some of the reasons why Thomson Reuters Canada Ltd. was selected as one of Canada's Best Diversity Employers (2024):
- Through focused attraction and retention efforts, Thomson Reuters Canada has been working to increase women representation in senior leadership to 45 per cent, racial and ethnic representation to 30 per cent and double Black employee representation and is close to achieving those goals -- 41 per cent women representation, 18 per cent racial and ethnic representation and 38 Black employees as of the end of 2022 (and the organization is continuing to conduct stay interviews to retain diverse talent)
- In partnership with McKinsey, Thomson Reuters launched Diverse Talent Academies, open to all racially and ethnically diverse talent globally (including Canada) under three tracks: executive leadership, management accelerator and leadership essentials -- the program focuses on leadership capabilities and networks, with activities such as virtual workshops, fireside chats, sponsors and peer groups to help diverse talent take the next step in their careers
- Thomson Reuters Canada created a gender transition guideline and action plan to help employees map out the key steps in their transition, which was developed based on best practices
