Recognized as one of Canada's Greenest Employers (2022):

Here are some of the reasons why Shaw Communications Inc. was selected as one of Canada's Greenest Employers (2022):

  • In 2017, Shaw introduced two rooftop bee apiaries at the downtown head office that are home to approximately 100,000 bees -- the bees are managed by an employee volunteer beekeeping club (with support from a local expert) that harvests approximately 30 litres of honey, which is shared with colleagues and partners
  • Shaw has implemented enhanced waste diversion programs at many of its major offices that move beyond local minimums and capture metals, batteries, e-waste, pallets, spray cans, wire and more -- the company invested in programs to ensure the proper disposal of used masks and personal protective equipment over the course of the pandemic
  • Shaw established "Mobi by Shaw Go" in 2016, which includes a multi-year partnership with Vancouver Bike Share to be the system-wide presenting partner of the City of Vancouver’s public bike-share system -- the company has also extended its Wi-Fi footprint to cover over 100 bike stations
