  • Red River College was one of the first large employers in Winnipeg to launch a disposable mask recycling program in partnership with TerraCycle's extensive recycling program -- the program was launched in February 2021 and collected over 13,500 disposable masks for recycling in its first two months
  • Red River College maintains a growing green building footprint, including the BOMA Best-certified Roblin Centre (features one of the province's largest solar panel arrays), Vehicle Technology and Energy Centre (over 25 per cent of building materials contain recycled content and passive solar systems help to pre-heat indoor air), and the LEED Gold-certified Paterson GlobalFoods Institute (features a heat recapture system that recycles cooking heat from culinary arts labs and kitchens)
  • Red River College employees not only assist with caring for the school's rooftop beehives but also participate in the Winnipeg Harvest Grow-A-Row program, growing and donating harvested produce for the Winnipeg Harvest Food Bank and the Students' Association Food Bank -- honey production is also jarred and sold at the on-campus farmers market
