Recognized as one of Canada's Greenest Employers (2025):
By Richard Yerema and Chantel Watkins, and Sonja Verpoort, Mediacorp Canada Inc. staff editors (Apr 21, 2025)
Here are some of the reasons why Printing House Ltd., The was selected as one of Canada's Greenest Employers (2025):
- In partnership with Forest Farmer, The Printing House operates a tree plantation site in Alberta (with plans to establish a forest in every province where it operates) -- the forest features four types of trees (white spruce, balsam poplar, lodgepole pine, and trembling aspen), carefully selected by environmental professionals to help restore native wildlife habitats
- The Printing House is committed to minimize all forms of waste through a comprehensive waste management policy focused on reducing, reusing and recycling -- the organization's long-standing commitment to waste management began with its CARE Program (Concerned about Recycling and the Environment) in the 1980s, which aimed to recycle all paper production waste across Canada
- The Printing House has embedded sustainability into its culture and operations and, in partnership with Canopy, sources much of its printing paper from responsibly managed forests, backed by certifications from the Forest Stewardship Council, Rainforest Alliance, Sustainable Forestry Initiative, and more
