Here are some of the reasons why LoyaltyOne, Co. was selected as one of Canada's Greenest Employers (2022):
- LoyaltyOne new downtown head office was designed and built to LEED Gold standards, and has since achieved LEED Platinum certification -- features range from electrical sub-metering to help manage electrical usage to bicycle storage and shower facilities to a sustainable fleet program for travelling employees
- LoyaltyOne conducts annual waste audits and continues to refine its waste reduction strategies (in partnership with Cascades Recovery), expanding its waste diversion program to capture organics, clothing, eyeglasses, e-waste, coffee cups, batteries and writing instruments
- LoyaltyOne encourages employees to consider alternate transportation options with transit subsidies, discounts on car-sharing services and corporate memberships for bike-sharing services -- along with a formal work-from-home strategy that has led to a decreased need for physical office space over the past year

- LoyaltyOne organizes case study competitions to provide co-op students with the opportunity to work cross-functionally and network with fellow co-ops, senior managers and designated coaches to create a solution for a current business challenge -- final recommendations are presented to senior leadership and the winning group presents their idea to an executive committee

- LoyaltyOne also recently launched Elevate, a six-month program for individual contributors looking to improve their efficiency or make a lateral movement -- the program is focused on experiential learning through a series of workshops, mentorship opportunities, case group work, and participation in Toastmasters International
