Recognized as one of Canada's Greenest Employers (2023):

Here are some of the reasons why IKEA Canada Limited Partnership was selected as one of Canada's Greenest Employers (2023):

  • IKEA Canada continues to invest in green energy with solar panels in half of its Canadian locations, including one of the largest rooftop solar panel networks in Ontario and new installations in Alberta -- in addition, the company's wind farms in Pincher Creek and Drumheller, Alberta can produce four times the energy consumed by IKEA Canada across the country
  • IKEA Canada has committed to 100 per cent zero-emission home delivery by 2025 and has already achieved this in the provinces of Québec and Ontario -- the company also offers electric vehicle charging stations at all stores
  • IKEA manages a number of green consumer-facing programs, including a formal Sell-Back program that extends product life through donations, repair, refurbishment and resale, as well as offering a range of sustainable-certified food products, from vegetarian items to salmon to coffee in its food kiosks and restaurants
