- Halton Region supports ongoing training and development through a number of initiatives including leadership development programs, in-house apprenticeships for skilled trades, and paid internships to provide recent graduates with public sector experience
- Halton Region celebrates employee achievement through annual recognition awards, with categories in customer service, productivity and innovation, and service/product delivery
- Halton Region supports employees who are new mothers with maternity and parental leave top-up payments (to 75 per cent of salary for 25 weeks), as well as parental top-up for new fathers and adoptive parents (75 per cent of salary for 10 weeks, depending on employee group) -- employees working at the organization's head office also receive priority placement at the onsite daycare
