Recognized as one of Canada's Greenest Employers (2025):
By Richard Yerema and Chantel Watkins, and Sonja Verpoort, Mediacorp Canada Inc. staff editors (Apr 21, 2025)
Here are some of the reasons why G&W Electric was selected as one of Canada's Greenest Employers (2025):
- Each year, G&W Electric partners with the City of Brampton to help organize a local clean up in recognition of Earth Day -- employees head to a local park to help pick up litter, with clean-up events recognizes as paid volunteer time
- G&W Electric has a dedicated spills response team trained to handle hazardous waste incidents and prevent environmental harm -- all production employees receive spill response awareness training, and eight fully stocked spill kits are readily available for emergency use
- G&W Electric made significant upgrades to reduce waste and emissions, including electric forklifts, hand dryers and paper towel recycling in bathrooms, and motion-sensitive LED lighting retrofits
