By Kristina Leung, Chantel Watkins, and Cypress Weston, Mediacorp Canada Inc. staff editors (Jan 20, 2025)
Here are some of the reasons why Flipp Corp. was selected as one of Canada's Top Employers for Young People (2025):
- Flipp manages an Early Talent Program to welcome students to the organization and help kick-start their careers through workshops, formal mentorships, and ongoing networking opportunities -- the program has separate streams for both technical (software engineering, data engineering, machine learning, and business intelligence) and non-technical (marketing, content, finance, external partnerships, people) roles, ranging from four to 16 months in length
- Students are introduced to the organization through Flipp University, an onboarding process that guides new employees during their first month and provides helpful context on navigating the organization, understanding the various divisions and teams, and providing the tools and resources to succeed in their position -- towards the end of their term, students are encouraged to reflect on their experience and plan for their future with sessions on resume building, interviewing best practices, and an opportunity to present their key learnings to peers and leaders
- Engineering students at Flipp can participate in the organization's hackathons, where they can can work with a team of peers and experienced engineers to focus on a problem they are passionate about solving and showcase their innovative solutions
