- Emterra Group founded Emterra Tire Recycling in 2005, which has grown to become Canada's leading supplier of crumb rubber that is used to create new products such as pavers and flowerpots
- Emterra Group partners with local organizations to heighten awareness and increase access to resources for waste reduction -- such as the "Make Your Contribution at the Curb" initiative that features a $1 donation to a local organization for each tonne of material recycled by businesses and residences
- Emterra Group has made significant infrastructure investments to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from its fleet operations with compressed natural gas (CNG) trucks and three CNG refuelling stations that have been made available to the public and other companies
