Recognized as one of Canada's Best Diversity Employers (2025):
By Kristina Leung, Chantel Watkins, and Cypress Weston, Mediacorp Canada Inc. staff editors (Feb 24, 2025)

- Dentons Canada introduced a new inclusion, diversity, equity and accessibility (IDEA) strategy in 2023, as well as a Reconciliation Roadmap, which focuses on accountability and inclusive leadership, education and learning, employment and development, and supply chain and Indigenous economy
- Additionally, the firm launched a global leadership accountability policy to embed IDEA goal-setting in annual business and leadership planning -- the policy requires IDEA-related goals and objectives for the CEO, managing partners, practice and sector leaders and business service leaders
- Dentons Canada launched a pilot program focused on supporting the progression and development of Black associates and students at the firm -- the program is called Intentional Career Conversations and aims to address bias and barriers through formal critical career conversations with Black talent, as well as support their professional development and increase leaders' and mentors' awareness of their experience

One of the highlights of my time at Dentons has been my involvement with the firm’s Black Professionals Network and the broader Black legal community that it connects to. Some of the projects I’ve worked on include planning a panel with distinguished Black general counsel, Black History Month programming, hosting a summer coffee social in the Toronto office to welcome Black students and professionals, partnering on a holiday party with PwC, and supporting the planning of Dentons’ annual Caribbean summer event. Being part of initiatives that create meaningful spaces for Black professionals and lawyers has been deeply rewarding. Charran Auguste, profile & client development coordinator
