Here are some of the reasons why AET Group Inc. was selected as one of Canada's Greenest Employers (2023):
- AET manages an in-house sustainable transportation program that features an online tracker of commuting habits, a formal telecommuting policy that encourages employees to work from home on a regular basis and a formal sustainable transportation rebate program which includes an EV rebate of $2,500 every three years and a hybrid rebate of $1,500 every three years
- In addition to its completely renovated and state-of-the-art century home head office, AET's outdoor space includes a new naturalized front garden that features native plant species to eliminate the need for pesticides, permeable paving in the company's back parking lot to reduce runoff into storm sewers and a new 15.75kWh roof-mounted solar array with two EV charging stations
- AET also directs approximately 70 per cent of the rain and snow that falls on its property into a specially designed planter box bioswale -- the water is filtered as it moves through the bioswale before making its way to a rain garden designed to further soak up and naturally treat the runoff
